When Teresa C. Toriseva launched the firm Toriseva Law in 2008, she envisioned a practice that would promote fairness by litigating on behalf of regular people.
“I had dear ideas about the type of services I wanted to deliver and the type of firm I wanted to operate to make our community a better place,” she says. “My interest in helping regular people and small businesses seek fairness and access to the courts is what motivated me to start our firm.”
Toriseva Law continues to grow in size and reputation. Ms. Toriseva has been joined by attorney Glenn F. Elliott. Jr., who was a former legislative assistant to Sen. Robert C. Byrd. Ha has also practiced corporate transactional law in Washington, D.C. for nearly a decade. She also has been joined by attorney John Kyle, a former deputy sheriff and judicial clerk. Some of the firms’ practice areas focus primarily on litigation, and include personal injury, bad drug and medical devices, protection of landowners and mineral rights, and domestic and family law.
The firm has received recognition for its medical device litigation experience,with Toriseva having been appointed multiple times by judges to serve various leadership roles in thousands of these cases in state and federal courts across the nation.
“We work hard for our clients, counseling them through the legal process and serving as their voice in court.” Toriseva says.
Toriseva has been peer-rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell®. She currently serves on the Board of the West Virginia Disciplinary Counsel. As a businesswoman, she was named to The State Journal’s “Generation Next: 40 under 40” list in 2009, and she is past President of the West Virginia Association of Justice. She also hosts a popular weekly talk radio show on AM 1600 WKKX in Wheeling.
