Toriseva Retained to Represent Local Retired Officers

Attorney Teresa Toriseva is now representing retired police officers of Weirton Fraternal Order of Police. Toriseva’s clients are suing major financial services firm Edward Jones. Toriseva says Edward Jones representatives made poor investment decisions on the FOP’s behalf. The retired officers, whose case was filed in Hancock County Circuit Court, hope to recover money from losses after Edward Jones representatives made junk bond investments.

Teresa Toriseva Appointed to Disciplinary Committee
Attorney Teresa Toriseva has been appointed to the West Virginia Lawyer Disciplinary Board.  She also now sits on the Board’s Investigatory Committee.  The Board, along with the assistance of the Office of Disciplinary Counsel, has jurisdiction to investigate complaints regarding violations of the Rules of Professional Conduct; to hold hearings; and to make recommendations with respect to disciplinary action to be taken against lawyers.  The Board consists of two-thirds practicing lawyers and one-third non-lawyers, which are all appointed by the President of the Board of Governors of the West Virginia State Bar.  “I am proud to have been appointed to this esteemed committee and will always do my part to see to it that the law is upheld and abided by as per the Rules of Professional Conduct,” said Toriseva.
